Isotope Dendrochronology in South Africa
In 1999, Steve Leavitt
participated in initial fieldwork in Cedarberg Mountains in the Western Cape Province (working with Widdringtonia cedarbergensis, left photo below)
and at Shingwedzi in Kruger National Park (several species) with Ed February and Steve Higgins (right photo
below) to install dendrometers to better understand
cambial growth characteristics and to plan for plant/water sampling.
